I know I've been here for awhile but I can't for the life of me figure out how to fucking update my avatar.

I change the it to the size needed but it comes up shitty quality compared to everyone else's. I have no idea what I'm doing. Can someone please tell me how!? It's starting to really piss me off. And I don't get mad easily.
